Steam to Water Heat Exchangers

Shell & Tube

A steam heat exchanger is an ideal solution for Clean In Place (CIP) services. CIP systems are designed to clean the inner surfaces of process equipment without disassembling any components. Utilizing a heat exchanger allows these systems to raise and maintain temperatures within the equipment, which helps ensure efficient sanitation. Typically, CIP systems use a shell and tube heat exchanger. This type of exchanger consists of a large cylindrical vessel (the 'shell') with several tubes running through it. Steam is forced through the tubes, heated by the surrounding shell, before being circulated throughout the CIP system. The design of this type of heat exchanger makes it very well-suited to CIP applications, as the external surface of the shell is highly accessible for cleaning.
